Foshan Women and Children Hospital is a state-owned non-profit three-level first-class maternal and child health care specialized hospital integrating six functions of medical treatment, health care, scientific research, teaching, information management and health education, and it is Foshan maternal and child health care business guidance center. In 2015, “Foshan children’s Hospital” and “Foshan maternity hospital” were added. The main structure of “Foshan women’s and children’s Hospital” built by our hospital in Foshan new city has been capped and is expected to be put into use in 2019. The hospital covers an area of 18843 square meters, with a total construction area of 51960 square meters; the number of beds approved is 530, and more than 20 specialties, mainly including Gynecology, obstetrics, assisted reproduction center, neonatology, pediatrics, women’s health care department, children’s health care department, surgery, internal medicine, etc., are opened; it is equipped with MRI machine, spiral CT, ultrasonic focus knife, ultra-thin liquid-based cell detector, mammography target X-ray Machine, C-arm X-ray machine, four-dimensional color ultrasound, tandem mass spectrometer, hysteroscopy, laparoscope, fetal mirror, fetal remote monitor, central monitoring system, anesthesia workstation, ultrasound knife, lung function detector, breast minimally invasive biopsy system and other advanced equipment, the total fixed assets of the hospital reached 400 million yuan; the hospital has more than 1400 employees. In 2018, the hospital had a total of 2.08 million patients, nearly 39000 discharged, and 13359 delivered, more than 10000 in five consecutive years. Under the correct leadership of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government and the competent department of health care, with the joint efforts of several generations, the hospital has now been built into a modern hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and maternal and child health care. Its comprehensive strength ranks among the top 30 maternal and child health care institutions in China, and among the top maternal and child health care institutions in Guangdong Province. In November 2015, the hospital passed the German ktq hospital quality certification. Now it has become a non Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University, teaching base of Guangdong Higher Medical College, medical postgraduate training base of Jinan University and teaching base of School of public health of Sun Yat sen University. The clinical, health care, teaching and scientific research work have developed comprehensively, well and rapidly. In 2010, the hospital won the honorary title of “advanced collective of national medical and health system” issued by the Ministry of health. In 2014, it was awarded the title of “advanced unit of national maternal and child health service” by the national health and Family Planning Commission for outstanding performance in maternal and child health service work.
