Shunde District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Foshan City is a non directly affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of traditional Chinese medicine. It is located in the central city of Shunde. Founded in 1958, it is one of the oldest hospitals in Shunde. It is a comprehensive hospital of traditional Chinese medicine integrating medical treatment, prevention, teaching, scientific research, rehabilitation and other functions. In August 1995, it was rated as a second-class Hospital of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine by Guangdong Administration of traditional Chinese medicine. After nearly 20 years of efforts, the scale and business of the hospital have been growing and developing, and great progress has been made in TCM theory, TCM technology, TCM teacher’s inheritance, TCM culture and other aspects of TCM connotation. In July 2009, it was renamed as Shunde District Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine. The hospital has also been awarded “National Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine” Advanced unit of integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, Guangdong hundred civilized hospitals and other honorary titles. In March 2014, it was reviewed by the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine and promoted to the third class a hospital of traditional Chinese medicine. The hospital covers an area of 92000 square meters, with a building area of 64000 square meters. It has three comprehensive outpatient departments, 12 clinical inpatient areas and ICU, supporting a number of medical technology auxiliary departments. In 2010, 630 beds were opened. Later, due to the repair of the Department, it was adjusted to 450 open beds with the approval of the superior department. Our hospital has 997 employees and 776 health technicians. There are 241 people with intermediate titles, 80 master’s degree candidates, 2 doctoral degree candidates, 4 part-time tutors, 4 part-time professors, 24 associate professors and 3 lecturers in Guangzhou University of traditional Chinese medicine. The hospital has one key specialty of traditional Chinese medicine in the 11th Five Year Plan of Guangdong Province, one key specialty construction unit of traditional Chinese medicine in the 12th Five Year Plan of Guangdong Province, and five key clinical specialties in Shunde District. The emergency department of the hospital undertakes the task of pre hospital first aid for more than 630000 permanent residents in the surrounding area, with advanced diagnosis and treatment and rescue facilities, complete first aid system and nearly 90% rescue success rate, which ensures the effective pre hospital first aid of patients in the area.
